Director of Religious Education Sought

Half-Time Director of Religious Education

First Church New Orleans is seeking a Religious Education Director for
half-time (20 hours a week). The DRE position works with the church's
Religious Education Team and the Minister to provide consistent, high
quality Sunday School programs for children and youth. The DRE
supervises the paid nursery worker for infants and toddlers; recruits,
trains, and supervises the volunteer Sunday School teachers; oversees
the Youth Group program; and acts as liaison to the parents of the
babies, children, and youth of the church. The position reports to the
Minister.

We are seeking a mature person with lots of initiative, organizational
and management skills, and the ability to motivate volunteers and relate
well to parents. Familiarity with UU curricula a plus; experience as a
teacher not required. Salary commensurate with skills and experience;
