RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NEWS

By Coleen Murphy, DRE

For the first time since 2004, we are starting Autumn programs for children and youth off in our own Oscar Flowers Religious Education Wing, and it's great to be home. After an active summer program that emphasized Spanish language and Latin culture, we have been settling into our space and celebrating the beginning of Autumn with crafts and games. Many thanks go out to Maggie Mackay, who coordinated the summer program, and Heidi Bayer-Tompkins, who organized crafts for Mabon on the Autumnal Equinox. With the help of many more volunteers (Linda Reine, the Rosamano family, Angie Palazzollo, the Tucker family - Thank you!), we have been able to improve our space by leaps and bounds. With the commitment of dedicated teaching volunteers (too numerous to list this time around!), we are ready to begin classes for the year.

Meanwhile, the Religious Education Team continues to search for new members. The team, made up of adults and youth, parents and non, serves to support and guide the programs. Meeting once a month, they are vital to the continuation of religious education programs that reflect the vision of our congregation. Please consider answering the call.
