Event Updates for Religious Education
Gustav and Ike have caused a few changes to our RE calendar, but onward we go. All children and youth are invited to join us this Sunday during class time (from when the children are sung out of the worship service until 12 noon) to re-meet each other, get set for the '08-'09 church school year and put our heads together about how we can best support our neighbors who have been affected by this season's storms. Please bring your ideas and a snack to share! Also, if you are able, bring a donation of canned/non-perishable food for our neighbors.
The Youth Group, which includes middle & high school youth, will be meeting at noon in the chapel.
Next Saturday, all senior high youth (14 and over) and adults who are interested in volunteering with our RE program this year are invited to join us for a Teacher Orientation Tea Party, at 2 PM, in the large classroom of the church. Tasty treats will be provided, but of course more are always welcome. This will be a great opportunity to get to know each other, the curricula and our space, and it's also a time to pick up some key information about being part of RE programs in our congregation. We plan to go until 4 PM; childcare is available upon request.
