This Week in RE
And the next, and the next...
The next two Sundays, October 19 and 26, the teaching volunteers for our
Religious Education program are getting a (well earned) break as we have
two intergenerational Sunday services in a row. This week's focus is
Spirit of Life, and the following week will be a Poetry Service.
I will be away this Sunday, the 19th, as will both of our youth
advisors. Neither classes nor youth group meeting are happening this
week, but Lydia Pelot-Hobs will be providing childcare in the large
classroom of the RE Wing, for the young and the restless. The reason for
using the large classroom rather than the Nursery is because the Nursery
will be in the process of getting a new and improved floor, thanks to
our wonderful volunteers working with the Building & Grounds Team. For
children who stay in the service but have busy hands, there are crayons,
coloring sheets and pipe cleaners available at the greeter's table.
Classes for all ages will resume on November 2, and the youth group will
meet again at noon on Sunday, October 26, following the Poetry Service.
Classes have been very busy these past few weeks, creating like mad,
whether it be chalices, batteries or pancakes... It's been wonderful to
see our young people and their teachers so engaged and present.
Finally, please join us with your hopes and dreams for our RE program at
the next meeting of the RE Team: Thursday, October 23, at 7 PM, in the
large classroom at the church. Childcare will be provided upon request;
please let me know 48 hours before the meeting if you will be needing
childcare.
Appreciatively, Coleen
