Intergenerational Thanksgiving Bread
Sunday, November 23, 2008
Communion Service
The Rev. Melanie Morel-Ensminger
In honor of Thanksgiving, please bread of your ethnic or cultural or regional background to represent you and your family in this celebration of all of us as One Family.
French bread -- corn bread -- Boston brown bread -- challah -- amoroso rolls -- Southern-style biscuits -- johnny cakes -- Indian fry bread -- nan -- pumpernickel -- Jewish rye -- German dark bread -- bread -- bread -- bread!
Don't forget! Please bring a loaf or pan or baguette of your favorite bread to this Sunday's worship service, November 23, for our annual Thanksgiving Bread Communion. The bread is to represent you, your family, your ancestors, your cultural or ethnic heritage -- or just bread you like a lot. It would be very helpful if the bread could be presliced or precut before the service -- it makes distribution during the service much easier.
